Odd Happenings
On Wednesday, July 1st we had a flow of customers - local and tourists. That afternoon, a woman who said she was from Texas came in and stayed for about an hour, sipping coffee and using the Wi-Fi. She toured the Gallery and was intrigued by my Wisdom Keepers Art Dolls...so much so that after she had left "abruptly" we found that "Freya" was gone.
Freya was one of my dolls in the Wisdom Keepers Collection.
Freya was a favorite that had a lot of interest from our customers who were looking to purchase her. That evening I was so upset. I spend so much time creating my Art Dolls - weeks of sculpting and designing, and then writing a story that accompanies them.
The next day, I had for the most part "let it go" knowing that I can't control everything. That afternoon, when I opened my email and found that the woman that had taken her had emailed me. She wrote the email as if it was Freya writing it....Here is a copy of the email.
"I guess you're wondering what happened to me. But first of all, thank you for making me! I was so bored, standing there with my sisters all the time, and when I saw my way to escape, I seized it. I am so sorry if I made you made. I didn't mean to. I am on a life journey, accompanied by Isis and E'Laye, across the country. E'Laye didn't know at the time that I had jumped into her bag and was more than surprised to find me there when she looked inside today, July 2. But I am so happy now. I am with kindred spirits . She says she will send you the $105 when she gets a chance, but since I am made out of recycled/reused cloth and wonderful peacock feather ( I so love my feather !), I really am worth so much more. So much magic is inside me. Right now, we are in Virigina City, NV. I have no idea where we are headed, but I am safe, happy, and am on a life quest. WIsh me luck! Tell your oh so handsome husband hello for me. I enjoyed listening to him play. What a talent. And you are so talented as well! But of course ! You made me! WIth love, Freya."

Recently at The Dancing Otter

Following their first set was Aletha Nowitzky from Ashland who delivered a mesmerizing set with some of the most beautiful vocals around the Rogue. And what a range on her voice ! She is truly a One Woman Show.
