Recently at The Dancing Otter

Wow, what a fun filled Friday and Saturday night at The Dancing Otter.

Friday some wonderful musicians came in to play for Open Mic...so much so that we went over an extra hour to accomodate ! We LOVE original music here at The Otter.

Saturday Night we hosted 2 shows. First we had an hour set from Tribal Journey - John and Jeremy Nunnelly. Jeremy is from Seneca, SC who had spent the past two weeks traveling across the country camping before arriving. They are a wonderful duo, who immediately fell back into sync after not seeing each other for 9 months since their recording last year. Soulful and engaging music to say the least !
Following their first set was Aletha Nowitzky from Ashland who delivered a mesmerizing set with some of the most beautiful vocals around the Rogue. And what a range on her voice ! She is truly a One Woman Show.

Then the evening was concluded with a second set from Tribal Journey.

During the week we had a quick visit from one of our favorite couples with their Hammered Dulcimers....
An afternoon of creating Artist Trading Cards.... which will happen every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month following the Artist Roundtable Gatherings. Create Artist Trading Cards using your medium to trade with fellow artists.

And "Peace" in front of the Gallery, painting on the street...his favorite place to paint.

  1. Great site! We so enjoy our time there, usually on Friday and Saturday nights. The poetry night was good as well. Thank you for such a warm, friendly and welcoming place to enjoy the arts. We always look forward to our evenings there. John and Jeanne, thanks for all your hard work!!

  2. As fellow former North Carolinians, we truly appreciate you two creating such a wonderful venue and having it open in the evenings! We were so used to going out after dinner to our local coffee shops that it was disappointing to find they all close so early here. And, as a bass player, Mike had a great time playing with you all at open Mic night. Thanks for the fantastic time - you know we're bound to become regulars! -- Mike & Leslie
